Son Sant Joan air base gets new commander on 18 September

Miguel Ángel Arranz takes command of Son Sant Joan Air Base in Palma, Mallorca, on Friday 18 September. He replaces Carlos de Montemayor, who is due to leave the post shortly. The handover ceremony will also mark Arranz’s formal appointment.
Gabriel Le Senne, president of the Balearic Parliament, received de Montemayor on Thursday. In a post on X, Le Senne thanked him for his work as head of Palma Air Sector and commander of Son Sant Joan Air Base.
Le Senne said it had been an honour and a real pleasure to work alongside de Montemayor over the years. He wished him every success at his next posting.
