Spain election: Vox second among young voters
Across Spain, 3,267,159 residents aged 18 to 24 can vote in the 29 November general election. An October poll puts Vox second among their age group, while 14.8% have yet to choose a party. Of those eligible to vote, 1,615,127 can take part in a general election for the first time after turning 18 since the vote on 23 July 2023.
The poll by Spain’s Centre for Sociological Research puts the Socialists (PSOE) first among 18- to 24-year-olds on 19%. Vox has 15.6%, ahead of the conservative People’s Party (PP) on 11.9%. The Electoral Census Office says this age group accounts for 8.4% of eligible voters living in Spain; it has not yet published an age breakdown for voters abroad.
How many young people will cast a ballot remains uncertain. Just 63.6% of those aged 18 to 24 in the poll say they are certain to vote — the lowest share of any age group surveyed.
