Spain's regions get 739 million euros extra for care
Spain’s regional governments gain 739 million euros in extra care funding between July and September 2026: the central government doubles its monthly contribution towards care for people who need support.
Spain’s Ministry of Social Rights, Consumer Affairs and the 2030 Agenda published the figures on Monday, 19 October. The July and August payments have reached the regions. September’s payment is due in October.
The central government paid 257.5 million euros towards the minimum level of care funding in June. The allocation for September is 516.2 million euros — twice as much.
These are the first figures since the new funding took effect. The government has approved an additional 6,200 million euros for care across 2026 and 2027.
