Balearics: Spanish travellers log 3.4m nights
Spanish travellers logged 3.4 million nights in the Balearic Islands in the second quarter, up 6.09% on the same period in 2025. The National Statistics Institute said 911,554 people living in Spain chose the islands between April and June. That was a 19.9% rise on the previous year.
Their spending reached 405 million euros, an increase of 17.02%. The Balearics accounted for 2.1% of all nights and 1.9% of all travellers recorded from within Spain.
More nights and travellers in the first half
From January to June, travellers from Spain recorded 5.1 million nights in the Balearics, up 2.18%. Their number rose 8.64% to 1.3 million.
Across Spain, residents made 46.9 million trips in the second quarter of 2026, a 1.1% increase. The average trip lasted 3.5 nights, down 2.9%.
Balearics leads on daily spending
Average daily spending in the Balearic Islands reached 117 euros, the highest figure among Spain's destination regions. Madrid followed with 116 euros and the Canary Islands with 115 euros.
Nationally, travellers spent an average of 97 euros a day, up 5.4%.
