On Mallorca, in the Balearic Islands, sports federations can apply for grants towards rent, wages and software from a €1.4 million fund for 2027 and 2028. The Balearic government has approved the funding call, with €700,000 set aside for each year, the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport said in Palma, Mallorca, on Thursday, 29 October. The grants aim to help federations keep their offices running and handle their daily administration.

What the grants cover

Eligible costs include office rent and utilities, management staff salaries, and the upkeep of websites and software used to process sports licences. Federations can also claim for outside administrative services and consumable supplies.

Balearic sports federations and regional branches of Spanish federations can apply if they are listed in the Register of Sports Organisations. They must have organised at least two official competitions, leagues or training courses during 2026 or the 2025–2026 season.

When the money is paid

For 2027, successful applicants will receive their full annual grant in advance, without having to provide a guarantee. For 2028, they will receive 80% in the first quarter. The government will process the rest once they have accounted for all the funded activity.

Costs incurred from 1 November 2026 to 31 October 2027 count towards the first year’s grant. For the second, the eligible period runs from 1 November 2027 to 31 October 2028.
