Mallorca start-up support chosen as good practice

Mallorca’s start-up support earns a good-practice nod from Socieux+: representatives of Chile’s government and the European Union visit the Balearic Regional Development Agency to see how it works. The Balearic Ministry of Business, Self-Employed People and Energy reported the visit on Monday, 28 September 2026.

Socieux+ selected the Balearic government’s policies on starting a business and working for yourself. The initiative aims to improve access to jobs and inclusive social protection, particularly for women, young people and vulnerable groups.

Help from idea to opening

At the agency, the visitors learn about Ibemprèn, a service offering information, guidance and training from the first business idea through to opening. The agency also runs the Public Business Services Network, which brings together public bodies at local, island, Balearic and national levels to coordinate support for businesses and people starting them.

Where the visitors go next

The delegation then visits ParcBit to learn how its business incubator works with new companies in their early stages. The Chilean specialists are also due to visit the non-profit Treball Solidari, the Training and Employment Institute in Calvià, Mallorca, Esment and the Mallorca Chamber of Commerce.
