Mallorca storm: 63-year-old dies in Felanitx

A 63-year-old woman died during Wednesday's storm in Calle Bellpuig, Felanitx, Mallorca, after she was found on the ground in cardiac arrest at about 15.00. People who found her began CPR before the SAMU 061 emergency team and a local doctor arrived. They continued the efforts but confirmed her death.

Guardia Civil sources said their initial view is that the woman slipped or tripped while walking on the public street. They said the heavy rain caused her to drown.

President of the Congress of Deputies Francina Armengol offered her condolences to the woman's family and friends. She urged people to take extra care and follow emergency-service instructions, warning that the coming hours could remain difficult.
