On Ibiza in the Balearic Islands, firefighters receive 48 calls during storms: water gets into homes, garages and shops as Dana Adam passes through. Between 23.00 on Sunday and 14.00 on Monday, 19 October, they receive 24 calls related to the storm, bringing the total during the storms to 48, according to the Ibiza Island Council.

Flooding and leaks dominate the latest calls in Eivissa, Santa Eulària and Sant Josep. Ground-floor premises and meter rooms are also affected. Crews pump out water and clear drains.

In Es Canar, water leaks into a building and part of a suspended ceiling falls. Firefighters remove water that has collected on the roof and clear a drain. The council says they find no structural problem.

Crews also put out two fires during the same period, though neither has a confirmed link to the storm. One affects about 30 to 40 square metres of a substandard dwelling in Cala Llonga. The other is a smaller fire at a transformer in a building’s lift room on Via Romana in Eivissa. On the previous day, firefighters also deal with fallen trees, branches and a downed cable.
