Mallorca storm warning: hail possible, rough seas

Mallorca, in Spain’s Balearic Islands, faces possible heavy showers, thunderstorms and hail on Thursday afternoon. Yellow warnings also cover rough seas on Mallorca and neighbouring Menorca. Both islands remain under yellow warnings for rain and storms, according to Spain’s State Meteorological Agency (Aemet).

Moist air from the north is expected to bring cloud and rain to the Balearics. Showers could grow stronger during the afternoon, with thunderstorms and hail possible. The agency also expects daytime highs to fall across the islands.

Strong tramontana winds, with very strong gusts, are forecast for the northern Balearics.
