Mallorca storms: orange warning for south and west

Mallorca, in the Balearic Islands, is under an orange warning for rain and thunderstorms until 14:00 on 19 October. Strong or very strong showers and storms in the Mallorca Channel could reach the island’s south and west. A thunderstorm with lightning also moved through south-east Mallorca in the early hours.
The Spanish State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) reports storms in the channel around midday. The weather system Dana Adam is set to keep conditions unsettled over Eivissa and Formentera in the coming hours. The other islands remain under a yellow warning. Aemet expects a lull afterwards, lasting until night.
