Mallorca faces storms on Monday, more rain midweek
Northern Mallorca, in Spain’s Balearic Islands, faces showers and possible thunderstorms on Monday, 5 October. The rain could be heavy in places, particularly early in the morning and during the afternoon. Menorca could also see showers and thunderstorms, while Spain’s State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) expects temperatures to fall across the islands this week.
Tuesday brings a break
Aemet expects Tuesday to be the quietest day of the week. Skies will be cloudy, with an isolated afternoon shower possible. Highs will range from 25 to 29 degrees and lows from 17 to 22 degrees.
More showers from Wednesday
A weather front will cross the Balearic Islands on Wednesday, bringing showers and possible thunderstorms. Rain will be more widespread in the first part of the day, then become isolated during the afternoon. Highs will range from 24 to 27 degrees and lows from 19 to 24 degrees.
Showers and thunderstorms are also forecast for Thursday and Friday. Aemet’s Balearic Islands representative, María José Guerrero, says storms like those affecting several parts of Catalonia are not expected on the islands.
