Palma hotel summer fair brings El Terreno together
Supper outdoors, music and community awards brought together residents, hotel guests, associations and cultural groups at Terreno Barrio Hotel in Palma’s El Terreno district on Thursday. Grupo Piñero staged the summer fair under the slogan “Som Terreno: una revetla per acomiadar l’estiu”, saying it aimed to link the area’s residents with its visitors and local organisations.
The programme included a charanga music group and an awards presentation. Grupo Piñero president and co-founder Isabel García and hotel director Nabil Aguilera took part in the ceremony.
Awards for local work and culture
Aguilera presented awards to the El Terreno Neighbours’ Association, Gomila Activa, Casa Planas and historian Eduard Moya. The recognitions highlighted neighbourhood participation, support for local shops, historical outreach and cultural activism.
Those honoured received an artistic print from Casa Planas.
Tourism linked to neighbourhood life
Lydia Piñero, daughter of the group’s president, said tourism only makes sense when it listens to, respects and brings real value to people who live in a place every day. She said the celebration reflected an approach to tourism connected to the district’s culture and daily life.
