Mallorca leads: Spain’s summer ferry booking list

Mallorca, Menorca and Ibiza are the Spanish travellers’ leading island choices for ferry trips this summer. Ferry booking platform Ferryhopper found the three Balearic islands at the top of domestic island demand in an analysis of reservations made from June to August 2026.

Formentera also ranks among the preferred destinations. Fuerteventura is the only Canary Island to feature in the leading group.

Mediterranean routes dominate abroad

Spanish ferry passengers travelling abroad mainly choose Mediterranean routes. Greece accounts for 44% of bookings outside Spain, ahead of Italy on 36% and Croatia on 15%.

Many tickets bought in the final week

Almost half of ferry tickets, 45%, are booked in the seven days before departure. The figure covers both domestic and international routes.

Some passengers plan much further ahead. For journeys to Spanish islands, 26% book at least 46 days before travelling, compared with 22% for international trips.
