Suppliers in the Balearic Islands, including Mallorca, face a 53.42-day average wait for payment in August 2026 — the longest of any Spanish autonomous region and well beyond the legal 30-day limit. Spain’s Ministry of Finance published the figures on Thursday, 22 October.

Four other regions exceeded the limit: Murcia at 42.38 days, Cantabria at 38.51, Asturias at 32.86 and Catalonia at 32.00. Across all Spain’s autonomous regions, the average rose by 1.63 days from July to 27.05 days, still below the legal limit.

Central government took an average of 26.46 days to pay, up 4.65 days from July. The local authorities covered by the figures averaged 30.15 days, up 3.67 days from July. The ministry attributes that rise to the summer season.
