Balearics: supplier payments take 46.09 days
Suppliers in the Balearic Islands waited an average of 46.09 days for payment in June, the longest delay of any Spanish region. Murcia followed at 31.83 days and Castilla y León at 30.82 days. The Finance Ministry published the figures on Thursday.
The average supplier payment period across Spain’s autonomous regions fell by 0.74 days to 23.43 days. The Balearics, however, were one of only three regions still above 30 days.
The measure, known in Spanish as the Período Medio de Pago a Proveedores or PMP, tracks the average time taken to pay suppliers. Cataluña recorded 29.24 days and the Valencian Community 26.66 days.
Commercial debt stood at 5,620 million euros, equal to 0.32% of national GDP. That was 985.5 million euros higher than the previous month, an increase of 21.26%.
Public administrations made 7,263.5 million euros in commercial payments during June 2026, up 17.8% on June 2025. Health-related payments accounted for 4,114.5 million euros of that total, 12.2% more than a year earlier.
