Nearly six million checked

Border officers checked nearly six million people at the airport in the first ten months of 2026, up 2.51% on the same period last year. Most were on flights from Britain and Ireland, followed by the United States and Canada.

Travellers turned back

The 24 travellers refused entry were sent back to the countries they had travelled from. Border checks also identified 201 people with active police or court notices. Officers arrested 59 of them because they were wanted under arrest warrants.
