Mallorca firms can now apply to use TalaIA, the Balearics’ first supercomputer. At an event at ParcBit on Mallorca on 1 November, the Balearic Supercomputing and Artificial Intelligence Centre set out how businesses can seek access. The centre has operated from ParcBit’s Balearic Research Complex since July.

A powerful computer for research and business

The centre runs TalaIA for scientific research and business projects that need large-scale data processing or artificial intelligence. The University of the Balearic Islands and the Balearic Government jointly oversee the centre.

How to apply

Firms must apply through the channels set up by the Balearic Government and show which organisation they belong to. The procedure also gives other organisations and research centres a way to seek access for innovation and artificial intelligence projects.

A new agreement brings in the chambers of commerce of Mallorca, Menorca, and Eivissa and Formentera. It gives business organisations a more direct route to start research and technology projects.
