Mallorca taxi driver faces 10 years in sex assault case

Prosecutors say a taxi passenger on Mallorca was so frightened when the driver allegedly touched her that she wet herself. Now they are seeking ten years in prison for the driver, whose trial opens at 10.00 on Monday at the Provincial Court in Palma, Mallorca. The alleged assault took place in the early hours of 29 October 2023.

According to the prosecution, the woman sat in the front passenger seat after getting into the taxi. The driver allegedly took advantage of her drunkenness and began touching her. When she wet herself, he stopped so she could get out and dry herself.

Prosecutors say he then touched her genitals again and penetrated her with his fingers. They are also seeking 10,000 euros in compensation for the woman.
