Palma, Mallorca: Teen held and beaten over romance
Palma, Mallorca: police arrest four members of one family after a teenage boy says he was held and beaten for dating an underage girl in their family. Three men forced him into a flat and punched and kicked him on 4 October, according to Spain’s National Police. Officers made the arrests on Thursday.
The girl had sent the boy a message asking him to come to her home at 19.00. Three men were waiting in the entrance hall; two were her relatives. During the attack, her mother appeared on a video call with the girl’s father, who threatened to kill the boy, police say.
One of the men took the boy’s phone and made him unlock it. He then deleted photos, videos and messages the boy had shared with the girl.
The attack stopped when the boy’s parents arrived at the flat. They took him to a medical centre for treatment and went with him to police on 5 October to report what had happened.
Police suspect three of those arrested of making threats, coercion, unlawful detention and assault. The fourth faces an allegation of making threats.
