Palma tent slashed: man cut with bottle, phone stolen

Palma, Mallorca: A man sleeping in a tent in a park near the seafront promenade is cut on the arm and has his phone stolen in the early hours of Sunday. He tells Spain’s National Police that another man slashed his tent with a glass bottle, then wounded him with the broken bottle. Officers find him with a bleeding arm.

Police say a fight had broken out among several men sleeping in the park. After hearing the injured man’s account, officers search the area and find a suspect in a nearby square. His appearance and clothing match the description they were given. Officers also spot pieces of glass bottle on his hands and ask him to remove them.

A search turns up a phone matching the make and model described by the injured man. Officers find a second, locked phone belonging to his friend. Police confirm both phones were stolen and arrest the suspect.
