Three arrested over threats to couple in Palma
National Police officers have arrested three men in Palma, Mallorca, after a couple said they were threatened by people they had previously reported for allegedly stealing from their car.
Patrols were sent to Calle Manacor on Thursday evening following reports of a fight. The couple told officers they had reported the theft from their vehicle at the end of June and were later approached, insulted and threatened over that complaint.
The couple identified three men in the group. They said a folding knife and a bottle had been used to intimidate them before the group ran off as police arrived, discarding objects in a rubbish container.
A witness told officers that the group had walked from Plaza de las Columnas towards Calle Manacor and that one person carried a knife while another had a folding knife. National Police officers found two members of the group during a search of the area, while a third was caught after attempting to flee when recognised by the couple.
No knife or folding knife was recovered from the detainees. The three men are suspected of making threats and committing an offence against the administration of justice. An ambulance treated one of those arrested for bleeding.
