Mallorca TIB campaign targets noise and feet on seats
Headphones on and feet off seats: Mallorca’s TIB network is launching a campaign urging better behaviour on buses, trains and the metro. The Consorcio de Transportes de Mallorca (CTM) began the drive on 16 September for the thousands of people who use the network each day.
Called “Espacio común, sentido común” — shared space, common sense — the campaign comes as passenger numbers rise. The Balearic Islands’ Ministry of Housing, Territory and Mobility says each traveller’s behaviour can make the journey better for everyone.
Headphones, queues and seats
The CTM asks passengers to listen to music through headphones and to respect the queue when boarding a bus. It also says seats should be given up for people who need them more.
The campaign calls on travellers to treat vehicles and stops with care. It asks them not to put their feet on seats or eat during the journey.
Respect for staff and fellow passengers
Respect for drivers and other TIB users is another central message. The consortium says public transport works properly only when everyone plays their part.
Passengers are also reminded to travel with a valid ticket. The campaign will appear mainly on social media and on posters and other graphics in TIB vehicles and facilities.
