Mallorca TIB stops gain 200 upgrades for better waits

Bus passengers in Consell, Mallorca, now have a new shelter on Calle Palma, fitted in August alongside access improvements at the stop. It is among more than 200 upgrades made across Mallorca’s TIB bus network in 2025 and 2026 by the Consorci de Transports de Mallorca (CTM). The work includes 114 projects completed in 2025 and 92 so far in 2026, with another 12 under way or due before the end of the year.

Shelters, seating and easier access

The TIB network has more than 760 stops across Mallorca. Of these, 210 have modular shelters with seats or leaning supports, plus display cases carrying timetable information.

New stops have been created at Son Angelats in Sóller to improve public transport access to the sports centre. In Felanitx, the cycle lane beside the bus stop has been adapted to make it easier to reach the institute, while two shelters have been added at the sports-centre stop.

Campos has seen one stop enlarged and fitted with shade. The wider programme also covers replacement stop poles, moving stops where needed and maintenance work.

€118,400 spent so far

The work completed in 2025 and 2026 has so far cost €118,400, excluding VAT. It is funded through the island factor of the Balearic Islands’ special regime.

At Palma’s Estació Intermodal, the Balearics’ main public-transport hub, all escalators have been renewed. The CTM has also added information screens and fans at the bus bays, improved access ramps and reorganised the space, creating one extra stop and redistributing the existing bays.
