Responsible for this content: Frank Menze

Mallorca's town halls are being asked to hold a minute's silence outside their buildings at 20.00 on Wednesday, 28 October, after a train crash in Spain's Toledo province. The call comes from the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces and applies to town halls across Spain. A Renfe train and an Iryo train were involved in the crash on Wednesday morning.

No official figures for deaths or injuries are available yet. The federation has sent its condolences to the families and loved ones of those who died and thanked the emergency crews working at the scene. It has also offered to help town halls, other organisations and anyone needing its services coordinate civil protection and other emergency work.
