Mallorca officials honour victims of Toledo train crash
In Palma, Mallorca, officials observe a minute’s silence on 29 October for the victims of a train crash in Urda, in Spain’s Toledo province. Members of the Spanish Government Delegation, the Balearic government and other island institutions gather at the delegation’s headquarters at midday. The delegation offers its support to the families affected.
Government delegate Pere Joan Pons says he is shocked and distressed by the crash. He thanks the state security forces, emergency responders and medical teams deployed to the area. For now, he says, the focus should be on the victims and their families; measures can be considered later.
