Ibiza delays tourism zone debate amid national mourning

On the island of Ibiza, a debate over whether several tourist areas should be designated saturated zones in need of restructuring is postponed on Friday, 30 October. Political groups on the Ibiza Island Council also put other motions and agenda items aside to avoid confrontations during national mourning.
The council session opens with a minute’s silence for victims of a rail accident. The tourism-zone proposal will be debated at a future meeting, the council says. Council president Vicent Marí has asked political groups to resubmit any motions they want debated then.
