Tourist arrested after hotel clash in Alcúdia
A 22-year-old French tourist was arrested in Alcúdia, Mallorca, on Sunday after allegedly trying to get into a hotel where he was not staying. Hotel staff called the Guardia Civil after the man tried to enter a room. Officers said he then resisted them strongly as they restrained him.
The patrol found the tourist confronting staff who had stopped him from going in, the Guardia Civil said. After checking that he was staying at another hotel, officers told him where his accommodation was.
He allegedly rejected those directions and became increasingly confrontational. The Guardia Civil said he insulted and threatened officers, and repeatedly tried to attack them.
During the restraint, the man showed “extreme aggression” and put up strong physical resistance, according to the force. He faces allegations of assaulting officers, disobedience and serious resistance, and has been brought before the relevant judicial authority.
