Balearic Islands tourism spending outpaces arrivals
International tourists spend 19,473 million euros in the Balearic Islands from January to September 2026, up 5.97% even as arrivals rise by just 1.7%. Spain’s National Statistics Institute released the figures on Wednesday, 4 November. In September alone, the islands receive 2.1 million international visitors, just 0.12% more than in September 2025.
September spending tells a different story from arrivals: it reaches 3,100 million euros, up 9.29% on a year earlier. Each international visitor spends an average of 1,419 euros during their stay, a rise of 9.16%. Daily spending averages 231 euros per person, while stays average 6.13 days, 0.35% longer than a year earlier. The figures cover the Balearic Islands as a whole, not Mallorca alone.
