Mallorca harness racing: Son Pardo hosts two Diada races

The Hipódromo de Son Pardo in Mallorca hosts two harness-racing events on Friday, 11 September, as part of the Diada de Mallorca. The programme brings together the Final Club Dames del Trot Memorial Maria Garcias and the Gran Premio Diada de Mallorca. The first race honours Maria Garcias and shines a light on women involved in Mallorca’s trot racing.

Pedro Bestard, councillor for Environment, Rural Affairs and Sport at the Consell de Mallorca, said the meeting is a chance to promote the sport, encourage participation and sustain a discipline closely linked to Mallorca’s sporting tradition.

He said the Club Dames final recognises the talent, effort and passion of women in the sport. The memorial also pays tribute to those who have helped build Mallorca’s trot-racing community.

The Gran Premio Diada de Mallorca completes the race day, representing the connection between tradition, culture and identity.
