Balearic Tramontana eases: moderate wind fades Saturday

The Tramontana wind across the Balearic Islands eases on Saturday after blowing at moderate strength. Spain’s State Meteorological Agency, Aemet, expects a largely stable, dry day with mostly clear or lightly clouded skies across much of the country. Temperatures will rise in several areas, while some parts of the archipelagos face tropical nights that stay above 20ºC.

The strongest conditions are expected far from the islands. Cádiz is under a warning for waves and wind, with a strong Levante and very strong gusts around the Strait of Gibraltar and elsewhere in the province. The Canary Islands may also see strong trade winds and very strong gusts.

Morning low cloud in Galicia, the Cantabrian coast and the upper Ebro area should clear as the day goes on. Cloud and a possible light shower remain possible around the Strait and Melilla, while isolated showers have a low chance along parts of the Catalan coast.
