He has been a specialist supporting the hospital transplant coordination team since June 2013, helping to organise and develop its donation and transplant work. At Son Espases, he has also worked in the coronary unit within intensive care, treating critically ill patients.

Rodríguez Salgado studied medicine and surgery at the University of Extremadura and completed his intensive-care training at Son Dureta Hospital in 2006. He took the University of Barcelona’s International Course in Transplant Coordination in 2015.

Since 2020, he has sat on Son Espases’s transplant commission. He is also an associate professor at the University of the Balearic Islands’ Faculty of Medicine, where he teaches organ and tissue transplantation.
