Mallorca travel agent faces court over €8,274
A travel agent goes on trial in Palma, Mallorca, on Wednesday over €8,274 paid for cruises and family trips. Prosecutors say he kept money from five customers instead of entering the bookings in his company’s sales system. The First Section of the Balearic Islands Provincial Court is due to hear the case at 09.45.
The prosecution is seeking two years in prison and repayment of the €8,274. The charge is misappropriation of funds.
According to the prosecution, the man ran a franchise travel agency in Palma from late 2019 to mid-2020. He sold the company’s services to customers for commission.
Prosecutors allege that payments for travel reservations were not entered into the sales management system and were taken for himself. Some of the cruises and family trips booked by the five customers were later cancelled or called off.
