Mallorca trotting: Galmés hears 15 on sport's future
Mallorca’s trotting sport gets a hearing in Manacor, Mallorca: Llorenç Galmés meets 15 people involved in it on Tuesday to hear their concerns and proposals. Galmés leads the People’s Party (PP) on Mallorca and says he wants to work more closely with the sport, known in the Balearics as ‘trot balear’.
Galmés says PP support for trotting has improved since the party took control of the Council of Mallorca in 2023. He calls Manacor one of the island’s municipalities with a strong equestrian tradition.
Gaspar Oliver, president of the Mallorca Equestrian Institute, and Jaume Mut, the PP’s candidate for mayor of Manacor, also attend the meeting. Galmés says the party will keep listening to people in the sport, but its statement names no new measures.
