Palma, Mallorca: 250 employees at TUI’s local transport company face severe workplace stress, union CCOO says, as the TUI Palma Marathon Mallorca 2026 approaches this Saturday and Sunday. In a statement on 16 October, the union contrasted conditions at Ultramar Express Transport with the health and wellbeing message TUI is promoting through the race.

Drivers under pressure, union says

CCOO says drivers face psychological strain because of unequal treatment and uncertainty at work. It warns that the pressure puts their mental health and road safety at risk.

The union also accuses the company of excluding some employees, without justification, from paid work moving vehicles to mainland Spain. It says those assignments are being used to pressure and punish staff.

Complaint filed as legal action begins

Workers’ representatives have filed a complaint against Ultramar Express Transport with the Labour and Social Security Inspectorate. CCOO says its representatives have been blocked from accessing required documents while members of another union have been favoured.

CCOO and workers’ representatives say they are taking steps to bring the dispute before a labour court. They accuse management of repeatedly refusing good-faith talks and want any workplace harassment to stop and workers’ rights restored.
