Mallorca university full meal drops to 6.85 euros

A full meal at the Universitat de les Illes Balears (UIB) campus cafeterias on Mallorca drops from 7.55 euros to 6.85 euros on Thursday. A half meal falls from five euros to 4.30 euros. The Balearic Islands’ Department of Education and Universities announced the new prices in Palma on Wednesday, 30 September. Education minister Antoni Vera set out the figures at a press conference.

It is the second price cut in a row. The department says university meal prices have fallen by more than 30 per cent overall. A year ago, they were among the highest in Spain; they are now below the national average. The department contributed 150,000 euros last academic year to make the earlier cut possible.
