Ukrainian Flag Day events in Palma, Mallorca

Palma, Mallorca, will host Ukrainian Flag Day events on Sunday as the Honorary Consulate of Ukraine in the Balearic Islands marks both the national flag day and the 35th anniversary of Ukraine’s independence. The gathering starts at 14:00 in Plaça de Santa Eulària and will bring together the islands’ Ukrainian community for cultural activities.

Cultural programme in Palma

The programme includes an exhibition on Ukrainian sites listed as World Heritage by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization. Traditional Ukrainian clothing will also be displayed.

Live music will be performed on the bandura, a traditional Ukrainian instrument.

Blue lighting and projections

Castell de Bellver will be illuminated in blue on Monday, 24 August. In Eivissa, Ukrainian national symbols will be projected on a screen beside the Consell Insular, the island council.
