A woman from Mallorca is among the victims of a rail crash in Urda, Toledo: the Balearic Parliament in Palma plans a minute’s silence for them on Tuesday, 3 November. Health minister Manuela García is also due to address MPs, but regional president Marga Prohens will miss the sitting. She is in London for the World Travel Market tourism fair, along with tourism minister Jaume Bauzá and agriculture minister Joan Simonet.

The sitting starts at 10.00 with Javier Ripoll taking his oath or making a pledge as a new Vox MP. He replaces María José Verdú, who has died. The People’s Party requested the minute’s silence on Monday, and the other parties are expected to support it.

García is due to report on progress towards improving services for people with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis on Menorca, and medical and psychosocial care for people with borderline personality disorder. MPs will also raise questions about budgets, water reserves, emergency care and housing. Separate motions cover social and health facilities on Menorca and the public pension system.
