In Palma, Mallorca, the council orders the urgent eviction of one person from a city-owned building in the Son Flor neighbourhood on Wednesday, 21 October. The property on Josep Estela street has defects that put its structural safety at risk, according to council reports. Deputy council spokesman Llorenç Bauzá says the order is intended to protect the person living there.

The Mallorcan Institute of Social Affairs is in contact with the resident to offer another place to live, Bauzá says. Asked whether the resident had formally turned down any alternatives before the decision, he says he does not know.
