Balearic Islands used car sales fall 11% in October
Mallorca and the rest of the Balearic Islands: used car and SUV sales fall 11% in October 2026, with 5,195 vehicles changing hands across the islands. That is compared with October 2025, according to figures released on 5 November by motor trade groups Ganvam and Faconauto. The figures do not give a separate total for Mallorca.
Across the Balearic Islands, 50,913 used vehicles have sold so far this year, down 0.4% on the same period in 2025.
Spain’s wider market is moving in a different direction over the year as a whole. Used car sales nationwide reached 1.8 million by the end of October, up 1.8%. October itself was weaker: sales fell 6.5% to 199,399.
The national figures show growth at both ends of the market. Cars more than 15 years old accounted for 41.6% of used sales through October, with 767,606 sold, up 2.2%. Sales of used fully electric cars rose 38.5% to 32,051, while plug-in hybrids rose 45.6% to 50,409.
Ganvam and Faconauto expect Spain’s used car market to finish 2026 up 2.3%, with more than 2.27 million sales. They give no equivalent forecast for the Balearic Islands.
