Mallorca: 100 officers train on VioGén 2 against violence

Nearly 100 professionals from the Guardia Civil, National Police and local police forces took part in VioGén 2 training in Palma, Mallorca, on Friday 25 September. The first session focused on the updated digital system for comprehensive monitoring of gender-based violence cases. Participants also joined by video from Maó and Eivissa.

The Government Delegation in the Balearic Islands organised the event, held in person at Palma’s General Treasury of Social Security headquarters. Government delegate Alfonso Rodríguez said the training was needed to make the response to violence against women more effective.

VioGén 2 updates the existing VioGén model with a redesigned digital platform and changes set out by the State Secretariat for Security since 2018. Rodríguez also highlighted the work of security forces and professionals in education, social services and justice, as well as councils whose local police work with state security forces through the system.
