Mallorca, in Spain’s Balearic Islands, has a new name at the top of Vox’s regional list for the 29 November general election: scientist Maribel Cerezo replaces Jorge Campos. Campos says he will return to regional politics. Antonio Salvá and Melina Merki take places behind Cerezo on the list that give them a chance of winning seats in Spain’s Congress of Deputies.

Vox announced its candidates on Wednesday. Party leader Santiago Abascal is due to present them on Monday in Talavera de la Reina, in Toledo province. Around 20 candidates are new, though most sitting Vox members of Congress retain places with a chance of election.

Monday is also the deadline for submitting candidacies. Vox and the conservative People’s Party have yet to agree how they will approach the Senate election.
