More than 400 people join a water-bike event at Llac Esperança in Alcúdia, Mallorca, on Sunday, 8 November. It is the third stop in a 2026 circuit that has drawn more than 1,000 participants. The Mallorca Island Council says it wants to introduce more people to the sport and bring sporting activities to coastal towns.

A water bike has cycling-style pedals and a floating base, like a paddleboard, on which riders must keep their balance. Riders race around a set course against the clock. The circuit is open to people aged 12 or over, or those at least 1.50 metres tall.

The other stops are Parc de la Mar in Palma, Mallorca, and Port d'Andratx, Mallorca. In Alcúdia, the programme also includes dragon boating, canoeing, mountain biking and family walks. Water bikes have joined regular activities for older people and young people this year.
