New pipes are in place and roads have been resurfaced after Andratx completed a €477,000 upgrade to its drinking-water network in Sa Coma and Son Curt, Mallorca. The work, announced on Monday, also replaced valves and improved household connections. Andratx Council says the changes should help cut possible water losses, prevent breakdowns and improve the network’s operation.

The underground work renewed part of the municipal drinking-water supply infrastructure. Once it was finished, the council restored the road surface and asphalted the areas affected by the works.

Mayor Estefanía Gonzalvo called the renewal a significant improvement to municipal infrastructure. Water is an essential but limited resource, she said, and Andratx must keep upgrading its infrastructure while encouraging responsible water use and sustainability.
