Mallorca wave warning: rough seas hit all Balearics

Responsible for this content: Frank Menze

Mallorca is under a yellow warning for waves on Thursday, 10 September, along with every other Balearic island. The State Meteorological Agency, AEMET, also forecasts strong Tramontana winds at times in the north of the Balearics. On the Pityusic Islands, showers and thunderstorms could turn heavy, and locally very heavy, overnight and early in the morning.

The warning covers the whole Balearic archipelago. The unsettled spell is expected to linger early in the day across the islands and eastern Spain, including Almería, Murcia and the south of the Valencian Community.

Skies over the islands should become mostly clear or only lightly cloudy later on, although an isolated shower may remain. AEMET expects daytime highs to fall across the Balearics, while night-time temperatures change little.
