Mallorca, in Spain’s Balearic Islands, faces a yellow warning for rough seas on Friday, 9 October: waves of up to five metres are forecast across the Balearics and Catalonia. Menorca, also in the Balearics, and Girona, in Catalonia, face the higher orange warning, according to Spain’s State Meteorological Agency (Aemet). The forecast does not give a wave height for Mallorca itself.
Showers are also expected across the Balearic Islands and could be heavy in places. In the north of the island group, Aemet forecasts strong tramontana winds from the north, with very strong gusts.
