Mallorca, in the Balearic Islands, faces waves of three to four metres on Friday: a yellow warning covers the Serra de Tramuntana coast and the island’s north. Nearby Menorca faces an orange warning, with waves that could reach five metres. Spain’s State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) issued the forecast.
Aemet also expects strong winds known as tramontana, with very strong gusts in the northern Balearics. Showers across the islands could be locally heavy.
