Mallorca weather: Rain could linger through Saturday
Mallorca, in Spain’s Balearic Islands, faces scattered showers from Friday, with rain that could last longer on Saturday. Spain’s State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) set out the forecast on Thursday, 29 October. Its spokesman, Rubén del Campo, says moist winds from the Mediterranean will bring rain to the islands.
Thursday remains largely dry, though a little light rain is possible. The showers arriving on Friday are expected to be scattered, before the flow of moist air strengthens on Saturday. Rain could then persist across the Balearics. Friday’s daytime temperatures are forecast to exceed 20 °C on the islands.
Rain may continue on Sunday and, to a lesser extent, Monday. Beyond that, the outlook is less certain. Meteored climatologist Samuel Biener says colder air could bring a marked drop in temperatures across the Balearics next week, with locally heavy rain and thunderstorms possible.
