Airlines plan 7.98 million seats at Palma Airport on Mallorca this winter, 6% more than before. Across the Balearic Islands, they have scheduled 10.37 million seats, up 4.4%, the Airline Association (ALA) said on Monday, 26 October. The winter season runs to March 2027.

The increase is not shared evenly across the islands. Menorca Airport has 700,392 seats planned, up 1.2%, while the number at Eivissa Airport is expected to fall to 1.6 million.

Airlines have scheduled 145.6 million winter seats across Spain, 5.5% more than in the same period last year. But those plans could change as geopolitical uncertainty and higher fuel prices put pressure on carriers. ALA president Javier Gándara said the situation was cutting airline profit margins worldwide “drastically”. Major airlines have price cover for 60% to 80% of their kerosene this winter.
