Palma workplace accident: worker falls from sixth floor

A worker aged about 44 was injured in a suspected workplace accident in Palma, Mallorca, on Monday 17 August 2026 after falling from the sixth floor of a building. The incident happened at about 12.30pm at 8 Metge Josep Darder Street, where he had been carrying out work.

SAMU 061 paramedics treated the man at the scene before taking him to Son Espases University Hospital. The circumstances of the fall have not yet been established.

The National Police are investigating the incident, which is thought to have been a workplace accident. Palma Local Police managed traffic nearby to allow emergency services to operate.

The Balearic Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, known as Ibassal, has also opened an inquiry into the cause of the fall and is awaiting an update on the worker’s medical condition.
