Santa Eulària offers €50,000 to bring young talent home

Young graduates with roots in Santa Eulària des Riu, on Eivissa, could receive up to €5,000 to return and build a career or start a business. The town council is preparing its fourth young-talent return scheme, with an initial €50,000 fund, on 19 September 2026. It is aimed at under-35s registered in the municipality who have previously lived there.

The scheme has four routes, split between salaried jobs and new professional ventures. Grants range from €1,000 to €5,000, depending on whether the applicant takes a job or starts a project, and whether their work is based in Santa Eulària or elsewhere on Eivissa.

Applicants must have been registered in Santa Eulària for five continuous years, or for eight of the ten years before moving away. They must also hold a university degree gained outside Eivissa.

People who studied on the island can also qualify if they can show they worked outside Eivissa for at least one year before the application deadline.

Help for jobs and new businesses

A returner taking a salaried role with a company in Santa Eulària can receive up to €1,500. They must be registered and paying contributions between 1 September 2026 and 31 October 2027, stay in the job for at least eight months, and work in a role linked to their degree.

Those returning to Santa Eulària but working for a company based in another Eivissa municipality can claim up to €1,000. The eight-month minimum applies here too, and their duties must relate to their university qualification.

People setting up their own professional project must register as self-employed or with the relevant professional association’s mutual fund. New projects with their main activity or registered office in Santa Eulària can receive up to €5,000.

The council awarded 46 grants across the scheme’s previous three rounds: five in the first, 20 in the second and 21 in the third.
